Coy Fox
This shot was a lot of fun to capture. I went to an area I know this fox frequents and spotted him through some trees. The photo opportunities presented there were not great so after assessing his behavior I hopped in my car and drove a mile ahead of his hunting path and hiked another half mile or so to a creek bed where I anticipated he would eventually pass through. I waited and waited and waited and finally caught a bit of motion through the sage. He came right towards me and began hunting in the thick sage. Pictured here is him listening for a mouse he caught seconds later.
I love having moments with wildlife like this where they have no idea I’m present and they are truly in their natural environment.
